If, as the Met Office have it, Spring starts on 1st March then the weather was running a little late this year. Several riders from Cornwall braved the torrential rain on 2nd March for the Exeter Wheelers’ Mad March Coasts and Quantocks event. Audax Kernow’s Spring makes a later and hopefully more Spring-like start with the Falmouth Wheelers’ events A Bunny Hop and A Cornish 100.
If you are looking to get some distance in before then, why not take part in CTC Cornwall’s Ride the Equinox for ShelterBox event on 23rd March (two days after the Spring Equinox). There are 25, 33 and 50 mile road rides from Devoran, and also two mainly off-road routes from Portreath – full details on the CTC Cornwall web site.
