Lizard and the Camel

Sunday 17th May 2026
Starting from Perranwell Organiser Martyn Aldis

The event starts from the Perranwell Centre (also known as the Perran-ar-Worthal Village Memorial Hall).

The route has been planned with the first-time randonneur in mind. It provides more modest ascent than other 200s run in Cornwall but it is scenic in the literal sense. The route makes use the Saints Trail from Perranporth to Goonhavern and the Camel Trail from Padstow to Bodmin – both are well-surfaced..

Controls at Lizard Village, Gwithian and Padstow, plus 2 information controls.

Includes free refreshments at Perranwell and Gwithian, with shop and café opportunities at other controls and elsewhere on route.

Mines and Mineral Railways ON-road and OFF-road

Sunday 28th June 2026
Starting from Carharrack
  Organiser Jonathan Butt

A longstanding and popular Cornish randonnée in dual format:

  • 66km off-road route for the mountain bikers, which is 90% off-road. Mountain bike recommended but rideable on a gravel bike – this year’s route has been tweaked to make the event more suitable for gravel bikes
  • 67km parallel route on the tarmac for the roadies

Both trace the now scenic industrial landscape of the Copper Kingdom and the Great Flat Lode, returning to the Carharrack hall twice for refreshment and chat.

Order your choice of pasty and cream tea in advance at https://www.audax.uk/store/audax-kernow/ (Link will be live nearer the date.)

Follow the Mordros – The Ebb

Saturday 25 April, 2026
Starting from Wadebridge
Organiser David Squance

A new event for 2026 will look familiar to previous riders of ‘The Social Coastal’ following a similar route but will run in the opposite direction (the Ebb). Mordros is the Cornish word for the sound of the sea and riders will follow the mordros along a challenging route from the north to the south coast and back again!
Starting in Wadebridge, the route heads straight for the wild north coast, before swinging back inland and following the Ladock valley down to the beautiful south coast and Mevagissey harbour. After Mevagissey, riders will need to haul themselves up and through china clay country (the Cornish Alps) before finally heading back with well deserved downhill and along the Camel trail to the finish.
Tea and coffee available at the start. Hall control at Indian Queens with tea, coffee and cake for sale (profits to charity), Cafe control at Mevagissey with sweet and savoury goods for sale. Please bring cash.
