I have updated the “Forthcoming events” calendar with details of all the Audax Kernow organisers’ rides up until July. As usual, you will also find some details of Devon events that venture our side of the Tamar. Printable poster (PDF file) here:

Audax Events on Cornish Roads April to June 2015

As this is a Paris-Brest-Paris year all the events over 200km in length are BRM (Brevet Randonneur Mondiaux) events, run under the regulations of the French club, Audax Club Parisien (ACP). More information, including details of the timeframes for qualification, is available on the Audax UK site.

Rumour is that a few local Audaxers are hoping to take part this year. You can see Don Hutchison’s 1999 ride report on this site, and we’d welcome your reports of 2015 qualifying rides whether in Cornwall or further afield.

Organised by CTC Devon. Starting from Newton Abbot, taking in North Devon and Cornwall coasts and returning via Launceston.

This event provides a 400km BRM within the timeframe needed to qualify for Paris-Brest-Paris.

Kernow and Southwest 600

A trip around the Southwest peninsular for the serious long distance cyclist. Hall control with food at Penzance (248km) and food and sleeping facilities at Bude (365km). Refreshments and limited sleep facilities at the finish.

This event forms part of the South West Super Randonneur Series. It provides a 600km BRM within the timeframe needed to qualify for Paris-Brest-Paris.

Many Rivers to Cross

This event returns to its traditional Easter Sunday slot this year, providing a 300km BRM within the timeframe needed to qualify for Paris-Brest-Paris.

A very substantial day out for the well‐prepared and self‐reliant randonneur. Crosses the rivers Fal, Fowey and Camel by ferries and bridges, large and small.

Note that this is an “X-rated” event, which means there are no manned controls or specific facilities. You attach commercial or ATM receipts to your brevet card for timed controls, and post it to the organiser after the event.

Four Hundreds 200

This event returns to its traditional Easter Sunday slot this year, providing a 200km BRM within the timeframe needed to qualify for Paris-Brest-Paris.

A varied route visiting the four ancient Cornish ‘Hundreds’ of Penwith, Kerrier, Pydarshire and Powdershire.

Note that this is an “X-rated” event, which means there are no manned controls or specific facilities. You attach commercial or ATM receipts to your brevet card for timed controls, and post it to the organiser after the event.
