The 112km Audax event from Wadebridge this year took on a new identity as it reversed direction on last year’s Social Coastal to become Follow the Mordros – The Ebb. By all accounts this was just as hilly a ride as last year, and possibly all the more challenging given the long climb up over the Clay Country on the return from Mevagissey.

A new event for 2026 will look familiar to previous riders of ‘The Social Coastal’ following a similar route but will run in the opposite direction (the Ebb). Mordros is the Cornish word for the sound of the sea and riders will follow the mordros along a challenging route from the north to the south coast and back again!
Starting in Wadebridge, the route heads straight for the wild north coast, before swinging back inland and following the Ladock valley down to the beautiful south coast and Mevagissey harbour. After Mevagissey, riders will need to haul themselves up and through china clay country (the Cornish Alps) before finally heading back with well deserved downhill and along the Camel trail to the finish.
Tea and coffee available at the start. Hall control at Indian Queens with tea, coffee and cake for sale (profits to charity), Cafe control at Mevagissey with sweet and savoury goods for sale. Please bring cash.
