A good start – Falmouth Events 2025

Riders on the Falmouth Wheelers’ events on the 6th of April were blessed with a truly gorgeous spring day. There was a fresh breeze, but plenty of warmth in the sunshine, reflected in a very happy and sociable field with riders from around the county and beyond.

Mines and Mineral Railways ON-road and OFF-road

Sunday 8th June 2025
Starting from Carharrack  Organiser Jonathan Butt

A longstanding and popular Cornish randonnée in dual format:

  • 66km off-road route for the mountain bikers, which is 90% off-road and has some technical bits. Mountain bike recommended but rideable on a gravel bike
  • 67km parallel route on the tarmac for the roadies

Both trace the now scenic industrial landscape of the Copper Kingdom and the Great Flat Lode, returning to the Carharrack hall twice for refreshment and chat.

Under new management this year as Jonathan Butt has picked up the baton and takes over from Simon Jones.

The Social Coastal

Starting from Wadebridge Organiser David Squance

Round 2 of the Social Coastal 112, back on the Cornish calendar.

A hilly coast to coast challenge showcasing some of Cornwall’s finest coast and country. Starting in Wadebridge, and crossing south through china clay country to the Roseland Peninsula passing through Mevagissey and neighbouring bays. After the route breaks away from the coast it heads back north through the Ladock valley to Indian Queens and then on the the north coast, arriving at Padstow before heading along the Camel trail to the finish.
Tea and coffee available at the start. Cafe control at Mevagissey. Hall control at Indian Queens with tea, coffee and sweet and savoury goods for sale (profits to charity), please bring cash.

A Cornish 100

Sunday 6th April, 2025
Starting from Falmouth Organiser Philip Conroy

This cross country ride starts with a circuit of Falmouth beaches and then heads out to Gweek and across to the edge of Camborne. Then down to Marazion and views of St Michaels Mount. Back via Porthleven, to the usual refreshments.

A Bunny Hop

Popular event organised by Falmouth Wheelers as a gentler alternative to A Cornish 100. An undemanding ride taking in the beaches of Falmouth and then out into the countryside visiting Stithians Reservoir. This ride offers an excellent introduction to Audax riding.
